Position Title: Office Manager Department: Purdue Extension - Brown County Salary Range/ $ 17.50 per hour Work Schedule: 40 hours each week, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm Duties: Opens and closes office and is the primary one to maintain office hours, which includes operating the office in the Educators' absences. Answers telephone and greets visitors, provides information and assistance. Maintains accounting operations for Ed Fund & County Budget under direction of County Extension Director. Prepares and completes financial duties, including payroll, claims, and deposits. Keeps accurate financial records and balances Ed Fund & County Budget. Prepares and edits correspondence, newsletters, booklets, flyers, 4-H manuals, publications, etc for 4-H, Health and Human Sciences (HHS), Agriculture & Natural Resources (ANR) program areas. Maintains Civil Rights files per Purdue University and Federal Government requirements. Oversees database entry, mailing lists, and publication files for all program areas. Manages volunteer files and screening processes as directed by the 4-H Extension Educator and ANR Educator respectively. Attends to bank and post office as needed. Attends Area Support Staff Meetings. Manages supply orders and maintains record of inventory supplies Occasional lifting of boxes and materials 10 lbs or less. Performs related duties as assigned. Preferred: High School diploma or GED with three to five (3-5) years of bookkeeping and computer experience. Previous business college training or office management experience preferred. Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of Purdue University Extension Service programs and policies, with ability to prepare reports, maintain department files, and assist Educators and members of the public accordingly. Knowledge of standard office procedures and computer programs including Word, Excel, Publisher. Ability to operate standard office equipment and maintain accurate files.
