Summary Of Position: The General Laborer/Wastewater Apprentice, under the direction of the Sewer Manager and Town Manager will assist with the daily operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Lab and assist with Street Department when necessary. Status: Full Time Essential Functions: Duties and Responsibilities: Wastewater Treatment Operator Apprentice 1. Shall check and record lift station functions daily. 2. Shall collect samples and perform lab test per Towns NPEDS permit. 3. Shall inspect sewer laterals installed by contractors. 4. Shall be an operator in training or hold a Class 1 Wastewater Treatment License. 5. Shall attend meetings pertaining to Wastewater Treatment. 6. May be available for weekend duty when necessary. 7. May mow grass and maintain Town properties and rights-of-way. Duties and Responsibilities: Street Department 1. Assist sanitary and storm water locates. 2. Assist with maintenance and operations with Storm Water. 3. Attend meetings and classes pertaining to Storm Water 4. Shall assist the Street Department on necessary signs and road repairs. 5. Shall assist with snow removal. 6. Participate in other activities as they arise as directed by Town Manager Position Requirements 1. High School Diploma 2.
