The purpose of this meeting is to gather testimony on the following water supply contract application: Applicant: Utilities Service Board of City of Bloomington, P.O. Box 1261, Bloomington, IN 47402; Request: Water Supply Contract for City of Bloomington; Reservoir: Monroe Lake; Location: 4850 S. State Road 446 Bloomington, IN 47401. This public meeting is being held pursuant to the provisions of Indiana Code 14-25-2-2.5 which authorizes the State to contract for the provision of certain minimum quantities of stream flow or to sell water on a unit pricing basis for water supply purposes from the water supply storage in reservoir impoundments that are financed by the State of Indiana. The determination whether to enter a water supply contract is made by the Natural Resources Commission, considering the following factors: 1) Terms, conditions, and purposes of the authorizing legislation. 2) The likelihood of adverse effects to: a. Public Safety; b. The Environment; c. Navigation; d. Recreation. 3) The availability of another source of water to the person making the request. 4) The proximity to the reservoir of any person that would receive water from the person making the request. 5) The water allocation priorities for the use of withdrawn water. The issues directly related to this request for a water supply contract will be addressed at the meeting. The meeting will include a presentation by the Department describing the nature of the request and the process by which the Commission will determine whether to enter the contract with The City of Bloomington.
